Community Habilitation Specialist

The Community Habilitation Specialist provides support in a home or community setting that promotes success at the highest level of independence possible In addition to program-specific functions, this will include, but not be limited to: teaching and reinforcing a wide range of daily living skills, promoting independence, preventing and responding to crisis situations appropriately, encouraging self-advocacy and facilitating the development of natural supports. All services will be provided in collaboration with program participants and their service plan, utilizing a person-centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Required: Valid NYS license

  • Preferred: 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Hourly rate starts at $16.50 and is commensurate with experience.

Student and Camper Engagement Specialist

The Student & Camper Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals enrolled in the Otsego Academy (OA) Program, a post-secondary program designed to enhance independent living, social, and employment skills for students with disabilities. Throughout the academic year, this role focuses on student engagement, skill-building, and dorm life coordination. During the summer months, the position transitions into a camp counselor role, leading enrichment activities and fostering personal growth in a camp-style environment.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in both structured educational settings and interactive summer experiences, with a passion for empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve success.

Qualifications

Cooper Transport

Under the direction of the Manager of Ancillary Service, this position is responsible for providing support in Cooper transportation and the ancillary department. Daily tasks will be assigned as needed to cover areas of listed duties, but not limited to:

  • Transport individuals to/from work locations
  • Deliver and pick up mail daily
  • Assist with daily gassing of village vehicles and record mileage as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles
  • Assist with the transportation of food/supplies
  • Assist with washing dishes and daily cleaning during times between trips
  • Assist with putting away cooler, freezer, and dry deliveries

Houry rate starts at $16.25 and is commensurate with experience.

Ancillary Support Staff

Under the direction of the Manager of Ancillary Service, this position is responsible for providing support in all areas of ancillary, with a primary focus on the Central Kitchen and Bakery. Daily tasks will be assigned as needed to cover areas of listed duties but not limited to:

  • Daily Pathfinder Village food deliveries
  • Assist head chef with meal prep as needed
  • Assists of general cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of all dietary work areas
  • Take bakery/cafe orders, serve food, and handle cash during transactions
  • Assist with prep of bakery items
  • Properly dispose of trash and sort recyclables, as necessary

Hourly rate starts at $16.25 and is commensurate with experience.

Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

This position offers a competitive salary, with certified teachers starting at $58,000 for the 10-month school year. Those who choose to work the summer session can earn an additional $9,600, bringing the total potential earnings to $67,600. Candidates who are actively working toward their certification will be considered at a lower starting rate.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of each student, and fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills are essential.

Director of Human Resources

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee training and development programs

  • Manage medical leaves and ensure compliance with legal requirements

  • Resolve employee concerns and promote a positive workplace culture

  • Handle performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

  • Respond to unemployment claims and ensure compliance with labor laws.

  • Oversee benefit administration and update the employee handbook.

  • Supervise the Recruitment and Training Specialist

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or 5+ years of HR experience with 2+ years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance

  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills

Annual salary is $60,000 and commensurate with experience

Overnight Manager

The Overnight Manager is a Direct Support Professional who works directly with Residential Team Leaders to provide leadership and support to residential staff on the overnight shift. Her/his management will ensure the safety, health, satisfaction, and well-being of residents through a person-centered approach to service delivery. Pathfinder is looking for a candidate with effective communication and critical thinking skills, as well as someone who is a collaborative problem solver.

This opening is for the Back Half Overnight Manager position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • Valid NYS driver's license

  • At least one year of relevant experience.

 

The hourly rate starts at 17.25 an hour and is commensurate with experience.

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Pathfinder Village presently has 12-hour shift openings for Direct Support Professionals. Primary responsibilities include providing direct care and residential guidance/supports for individuals living with intellectual and other disabilities within an open-access community setting. Additional duties involve advocating and supporting informed choices of individuals within the greater community. Strong record keeping skills, local travel, flexibility, and a commitment to ongoing job training are required.

  • 3 - 4 day work week.
  • No prior work experience is required. 

Starting hourly rate ranges from $16.25 to $20.50 an hour, commensurate with experience. Overnight staff get an additional $3 an hour shift differential on top of their base rate when working an overnight shift.
